Our Vision

The vision of the church planting movement of the IBC is a God-sized vision for 10 new churches to have their first public worship service by the end of the year 2005. These ten churches will be launched across the district in areas where nearby IBC churches can give support as parent congregations. Studies are showing that the most effective evangelism tool today is the starting of new churches.

To break down the task, the district has been divided into 5 geographic areas: The Northwest quadrant, the Cedar Valley area, the Des Moines region, the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City corridor, and the Quad Cities. Each has been targeted to start an average of two churches in the next five years which includes two ethnic and one millennium church.

This vision of planting 10 churches in the next five years is aimed at reaching spiritually lost Iowans and those who may have given up on church but haven't given up on God. Our vision includes a partnership of existing churches for strengthening congregations, encouraging their renewal and expanding the kingdom in Iowa.

"We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can surely do it," was the cry of Caleb that silenced the people before Moses. Our response should be the same as we seek to see Christ transform communities throughout Iowa through the multiplying of new churches.
