TRANSITION YEAR - survey #2

QUESTION #1 - What things should be PRESERVED?

 (Key:  LL=Lay Leader // P=Pastor)

A.  OPTIONS RELATED TO MOBILIZATION
LL 2. Growing and strengthening our present churches
P mobilization / strengthening of existing churches, LEAD teams
P Pastoral Support "LEAD" type activities that encourage pastors to thrive and share their churches resources/knowledge
P --Mobilization: LEAD teams, with funding for training but not hotels or meals. It would be good also to preserve the teams themselves rather than divide up existing partnerships.
LL Lead Teams particularly the youth pastors
P Preserve LEAD teams (even with little financial support). Preserve availability of DEM (or similar) to consult with/resource the Leadership teams and pastors of the existing IBC churches and church plants.
P lead teams; help for churches looking for a pastor or in conflict
P LEAD teams are essential to the health and vitality of the pastors.
  P LEAD Teams
  P Lead Teams
LL Cooperation and interaction between pastors and lay leaders. Strong Bible focus.
  LL lead teams
LL 2. Guidance as to local ministries for individual churches. These will be church specific, due to different talents in each church. 3. The regular news letter, pumping up churches. Folks also like to see their name in the news.
LL Lead teams --- provides communication and support for similar needs across the state
  P LEAD teams.
  P Mobilizing Existing Churches.
  P Lead teams
P LEAD Teams. Ministry to and input for pastors
P LEAD Teams for Church leaders both male and female
  P  pastoral placement; crisis intervention; mobilization efforts;
P A DEM like position in which there is real concern about the pastors as well as the congregations.
P --Magnification: gatherings for prayer and worship, such as the Prayer Summit.
LL Pastoral mentoring; Connecting churches together
  LL Lead teams
  LL Pastoral search. Church healing
P Lead team meetings. Coaching for churches in crisis/transition. Cooperation between district churches (mobilization)
P LEAD Teams are by far the most beneficial ministry/activity that the IBC offers and that has been an encouragement to me/us.  I should add, that having the DEM present, is KEY to keeping these LEAD Teams connected to what's happening in the rest of the region AND for being encouraged by his wisdom, vision, and inspiration.
P Personally, I would like LEAD teams to be preserved.
LL  I believe we are doing a good job, Pastor's and churches need help.
LL personal connection with the churches.
P lead teams even if it is not a funded event.
LL churches reaching people for Christ, Church plants, LEAD groups encouraging one another,
LL Pastor support and kingdom building in Iowa.
  P ministry to pastors
  LL LEAD Teams; Church Renewal/Mobilization
LL LEAD Teams have been a vital part of our lives and need to be preserved. Support for hurting churches.  Encouragement for pastors.  Teaching and preaching of the Bible.

B.  OPTIONS RELATED TO MULTIPLICATION
P --Multiplication: funding and networks for encouragement and accountability for church planters
P Preserve Iowa Church planting support/prayer/efforts.
P church planting through lead teams
P Church planting is of utmost importance and needs to be retained, regardless of the future format.
  P Church Planting
  P Church Plants
  LL Attention given to growth.
LL Church planting and support for new churches
  P Church Planting.
  P Coordination for Church Planting
  LL Church plants
  LL CHURCH PLANTS

  LL Church plants
  P church planting
  P church planting

P We can not lose the newly achieved zeal for planting churches.
  LL Church Planting

C.  OPTIONS RELATED TO "MEMORIES" & YOUTH
LL PLCC, needs to be preserved with a camp committee that has an interest to progress.
LL Camp needs to be continued, it is an invaluable resource to our communities.
  LL Youth activities
  LL 1. Camp
P  Camp, Family camp is a good event for my church
P Pine Lake Camp should be moved aside to become it's own entity, thus preserving it's integrity and longevity. A board of directors made up of pastors and lay leaders from across Iowa should oversee this ministry. We need to keep it from falling into the same muck and mire that our Iowa conference has fallen into the last several years.
P --Memories: summer kids camps, men's and women's retreats
  LL camp and breakaway
  LL Camp. Breakaway
P Preserve PLCC camp operations (even if we must "spin-off" as a completely independent enterprise).
P The camp is a great avenue of ministry and should be strongly considered in any new alliance.
  P Camp
LL The Bible Camp and programs.
  LL Pine Lake Christian Camp
  LL Pine Lake camp
LL Pine Lake summer/winter camps. Men's and Women's Retreats. Family camps
LL I think camp has been very fruitful and seems to be a good investment from what I have read in the news letters. Some of our church planting sound very interesting like the one in Waukon Iowa. The event we used to call "Break Away" has been a hit to our young people at Pleasant View but I am not sure if that is exactly an IBC event.
LL the camping facility's at Pine lake, for winter retreat and summer camps/retreats.
LL 1. The camp. This is a highlight for young people. It frequently contributes to their salvation. For some of the churches this will be their biggest out reach of the year.
LL Pine Lake should be preserved completely.
LL I believe that the ministries and activities that need to be preserved include camp,
LL Pine Lake Camp. Across the state connections for teens and adults
  LL Pine Lake
  LL Summer camp
