Question #2 - "OUTSIDE the Box Ideas"
CAMP OPTIONS |
|
(Key:
LL=Lay Leader // P=Pastor) |
|
|
CAMP OPTIONS |
|
P |
Maybe we should sell Pine Lake and use those assets solely to fund
our church-planting. We could be very aggressive in church
planting with those resources, and in 10 years perhaps have
another 10-20 churches in Iowa. That doesn't mean we don't have
camp. It means our kids go to camp at other camps. |
|
LL |
Maybe we should contact all of the churches in Iowa who send their
kids to camp in other states to form a new alliance with the IBC
to send their campers to Pine Lake Camp. Maybe we should offer
time shares to Pine Lake to non-IBC churches. |
|
P |
Maybe we should sell the camp and use the money to create a
banquet hall/coffee shop Complex in West Des Moines, IA. We could
generate income from the banquet hall complex during wedding
season. This complex could house our existing IBC ministries and
hold our annual meetings. |
|
P |
Maybe we should sell Pine Lake to interested investors and ask
that they continue to allow us principle use of the facilities. |
|
P |
Maybe we should open our camp to non Christians groups. Maybe we
should contact businesses and partner with them and offer our site
to them. Maybe would open our camp to other cities close to Eldora
as a place to come and gather. |
|
LL |
Maybe we should take the resources that we have (Pine Lake) and
open them to the citizens of the state and thus begin an
evangelism ministry. |
|
P |
maybe we should divide the conference into smaller sections and
have the "DEM" position be covered by a few pastors and a stipend
added to their salary through the IBC. This would eliminate many
of the things that IBC has to offer but would provide the
connection necessary to remain as a distinct district. This would
spin Pine Lake off as a solo ministry, responsible for its own
fund raising/marketing. mini conferences would have the ability
to bring other Baptist churches into their fold. |
|
LL |
Maybe we should target unaffiliated evangelical churches in Iowa
and Northern Minnesota and invite them to be a part of our Pine
Lake program. |
