TRANSITION YEAR - SURVEY #1

Question #1 - "INSIDE the Box Ideas"

CAMP OPTIONS

 (Key:  LL=Lay Leader // P=Pastor)

  CAMP OPTIONS
P Maybe we should "liberate the camp"and "set it free, at no fee" from IBC/BGC and allow it to stand on it's own. It could be a viable, free-standing entity. Set it free to survive & thrive.
LL Maybe we should reestablish the camp committee.
P Maybe we should sell the camp and make up a new district that exists to mobilize existing churches and plant new churches; and let each church find a church camp that is near them to support.
P Maybe we should set up separate budgets and staff for the camp and the IBC and require each of them to make it on their own
LL Maybe our camp should merge with a "like" fellowship so each would be supporting only 1/2 of total cost.  Or, maybe we shold sell our camp and rent.
P maybe we should put conference needs on hold for a while a promote the building of Pine Lake into a Money making camp that could then support the IBC through its rental and ministry income. Market t other conferences/ denominations. If at the end we only have a sweet camp then we have something to offer a conference that we would merge with. Maybe we should sell the camp.
p Maybe we should sell the camp.
P The camp could be part of the IBC but funded by time-share, fundraising, and private group usage.
LL Sell the camp grounds and invest in youth programming to get kids off the streets and acquainted with Jesus
LL Maybe a smaller Iowa District centered around Pine Lake camp would be more productive for Iowa at this time. A smaller district will have perhaps an easier time becoming financially stable. A smaller Jeruselum may be stronger for the Lord.
LL 2. The camp is the glue that holds the IBC together.
LL I do note that I am very uncomfortable with the idea wherein the camp would become a separately run entity, apart from the conference.  Although this implies to me a willingness to keep this ministry going on, it also indicates an unwillingness on the part of the conference to keep it as a part of its ministry essentials.
